XBRL Malaysia is an independent website. It is not SSM. It is not the Companies Commission of Malaysia. It is not any Malaysian government agency, and it does not lodge filings on anyone's behalf.
What this site is
XBRL Malaysia (xbrlmalaysia.com) is a privately run, independent resource built to explain Malaysia's MBRS and XBRL financial reporting requirements in plain language, for directors, company secretaries, accountants, and business owners who want to understand the system before — or instead of — going straight to a service provider's sales page.
What this site is not
- It is not operated, endorsed, licensed, or reviewed by Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM), the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, or any other Malaysian government body.
- It is not a law firm, audit firm, or licensed company secretarial practice, and nothing on this site constitutes legal, accounting, tax, or filing advice.
- It is not a filing platform. You cannot lodge an Annual Return, Financial Statement, or Exemption Application through this site — official filings are made only through SSM's own MBRS portal.
- It does not claim that any figure, deadline, fee, or rule on this site is current at the moment you are reading it. Regulatory details change; we do our best to flag known changes, but you should always confirm anything time-sensitive directly with SSM.
Why we built it
Searching for MBRS or XBRL information in Malaysia mostly surfaces service providers' sales pages — useful once you already know what you need, less useful if you are still trying to understand what MBRS is, whether it applies to your company, or what an acronym like SSMxT actually means. This site exists to answer those foundational questions clearly, without a sales pitch attached to the explanation.
Language
The site is written primarily in English. Thirteen of our sixteen guides, including the homepage, are also available in Bahasa Malaysia, marked with a "BM" toggle in the navigation. Translations are provided as a convenience; where any wording differs in meaning from the English original, the English version should be treated as authoritative.
About the free checklist
The MBRS 2.0 Filing Readiness Checklist offered throughout this site is a free PDF. Providing your name, email, and (optionally) phone number downloads the checklist and adds you to an occasional mailing list for new guides; you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how this information is used and stored.
How the content is written
Every guide on this site is written in plain language, checked against publicly available official and professional sources at the time of writing, and updated when we become aware of a material change — such as an MBRS 2.0 phase or a new SSM waiver announcement. Even so, this is a best-effort resource, not an authoritative legal reference. Where something is time-sensitive — deadlines, fees, taxonomy versions, waiver windows — treat this site as a starting point for understanding the topic, and confirm the current, specific detail with SSM or a qualified professional before you rely on it.
