We collect your name, email, and (optionally) phone number only when you request the free checklist. We use a small number of third-party services to run the form, send the download link, and measure site traffic. We do not sell your data.
What we collect
XBRL Malaysia collects personal data in two ways:
- Information you provide directly: when you fill in the "Get the free checklist" form, we collect your name, email address, and phone number if you choose to provide it.
- Information collected automatically: like most websites, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used — pages visited, general location (country/city level), device type, and referring site. This is collected via cookies and similar technologies.
Why we collect it
- To send you the MBRS 2.0 Filing Readiness Checklist you requested.
- To occasionally send you new guides or updates relevant to MBRS/XBRL filing in Malaysia — you can unsubscribe from these at any time.
- To understand which guides are useful (via Analytics), so we know what to write next and what to correct.
We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. The one exception is described in full below: if you use our Get Matched service, your enquiry is deliberately shared with the service provider(s) we connect you with, because that sharing is the entire point of that service — see Provider Matching & Your Data.
Provider Matching & Your Data
If you submit a request through our Get Matched page, this is different from the checklist form above, and we want to be explicit about it:
- What we share: the details you submit (company information, what help you need, your contact details) are shared with the service provider(s) we match you with, so they can contact you directly about your enquiry.
- Why: we receive a referral fee from the provider for this introduction. This does not cost you anything, and does not affect what the provider charges you for their services.
- Your consent: we only share your enquiry after you submit the Get Matched form, which requires your explicit agreement to this sharing before submission.
- Who might see it: only the specific provider(s) we match you with, and no one else.
- Your rights: under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010, you can ask us what data we've shared and with whom, and you can ask a matched provider directly to delete your data from their own records — that request goes to them, not us, once it's been shared.
If you'd rather not have your enquiry shared with a third party at all, simply don't submit the Get Matched form — no other part of this site shares your data with service providers.
Third-party services we use
Running the checklist form and measuring traffic means a small amount of data passes through these processors:

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data on our behalf; we choose providers that are widely used and hold their own data protection commitments, but we encourage you to review their policies if you'd like the full detail.
How long we keep it
Checklist request data (name, email, phone) is retained until you ask us to delete it, or until we determine it is no longer needed for the purpose collected — whichever comes first. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies do not collect information that directly identifies you. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not affect your ability to read guides or download the checklist, though it may affect form submission tracking.
Your rights
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data and unsubscribe you from any mailing list
- Withdraw consent for us to contact you, at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email edu@xbrlmalaysia.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children's data
This site is intended for business professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the services it relies on change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
